Izzy Ruiz (Rey) is a New York City native who served his city for 20 years as a New York City Police Officer/Detective. Before his career in law enforcement, while in college, he discovered his true calling as an actor, though it did not become apparent until years later. Though he enjoyed acting as a hobby rather than a career choice, it was while working (acting) as an undercover in the NYPD that he discovered he was very good at pretending to be other people. After meeting a well respected actor who also happened to be a NYPD police officer, Izzy was encouraged to follow his calling, he began on his journey to becoming an actor as a life choice. He went on to study with William Esper, Meir Ribalow and other great teachers. His future as an actor is still unraveling. Izzy has co-starred on Stage, Film, and Prime Time Television, on shows such as "The Following," "Nurse Jackie," "Law & Order," "A Gifted Man" and "Blue Bloods". He is now retired from the NYPD and is focusing all his energy as an actor, and continues to study and practice on bettering his craft, intent on becoming a well respected actor.
